Overall Job Function: You'll be responsible for all financial stewardship within the organization (accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, P&L responsibility, cash flow, compensation modeling, analysis, etc.) and over time build a team of financial professionals. On the finance side, you’ll have a Sr. Accountant and bookkeeper reporting in to you. In operations, our fulfillment operations team will report into you and you’ll be responsible for strategic oversight in helping them creating processes that ensure visibility we need to achieve our margin and performance goals. You’ll also have responsibility for some G&A functions. This position reports to the CEO and is on the executive management team.

Job Responsibility including but not limited to:

  • Own all finance and accounting operations and P&L, including monthly close
  • Provide leadership in preparing the budget, financial forecasts, financial reports, and recommendations
  • Conduct cash-flow planning, cash-flow management, account analysis, and reconciliations
  • Create compensation plan modeling that balances retention and business profitability
  • Analyze financial data/statements to make decisions and improve profitability
  • Negotiate capital expenditures for the firm (space, resources, technology) as company expands
  • Coordinate annual and quarterly tax filings alongside the Loop & Tie tax accountants
  • Research future technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Manage fulfillment operations team, ensure margin goals are met
  • Interface with investors, support CEO with managing investor requests

DNA of a successful Vice President of Finance:

  • This Vice President of Finance is a driven results-oriented financial leader who has a proven record of scaling and optimizing financial operations while holding a standard of excellence in implementation.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting and finance, with CPA certification a plus
  • Experience in managing accounting / finance for an organization >$10M
  • Interest in leading teams and being an individual contributor
  • Loves to compete with an optimistic attitude and has a growth mentality
  • High energy, high capacity, high integrity, and is self-motivated
  • Enjoys ambiguity and change and has a great ability to solve problems
  • Strong financial discipline and prior experience in financial leadership
  • Tactical, detail-oriented, and strategic in how you approach business
  • Embraces urgent environment, strives for innovation, and seeks improvement year-over -year
  • Excels in executive level communication and guiding financial implementation
  • Experience working with the Legal/HR/Ops functions is a plus
  • Prior experience in a services, SaaS and e-commerce business is a plus
